Beyond the DialTone

Abstract

IP Phones and VoIP PBX systems are extremely versatile and feature rich – the main problem is that each one is feature rich on its own – the richness is monolithcaly limited to the device or PBX system.

The purpose of the talk would be to introduce new concepts in developing PBX and enterprise telephony systems, enabling news services that are available across multiple IP Phone vendors and handsets, providing a seamless environment.

The talk will introduce a short primer to two technologies that are widely used: The SNOM XML mini-browser and the CodeIgniter PHP MVC structure – detailing a conceptual framework for developing high-end IP Phone based interfaces and information systems.
